I know from first hand experience that your whole world can be consumed by doing what you have to do to just survive being unemployed. It's all you think about from the time you get up, every time the phone rings (is it another creditor?), until you go to bed and sleep, if you can. But, you are alive and working to survive.
Be thankful that you don't live in Haiti. They are only interested in just what they need to survive. A roof. Food. Water. Things get pretty basic. And, trying to get any kind of emergency health care that so many need is next to impossible - so the death toll is going to rise.
If you can, call the Red Cross, or go to their website, and give them a donation - just a small one of $5 - you will never know how even an amount like that can make things a bit better for a person - it can give them the hope to move forward. And, if you can't give a few dollars, give an organization who is helping Haiti your time.
If you don't like the Red Cross, Google 'Aid for Haiti.' You get a lot of hits.
You can make a difference to one who has lost everything!
